yoga and hypertension

Blood pressure refers to the force exerted by the blood vessel against any unit area of vessel wall and it is always measured in mmHg. if we say that a pressure in the vessel is 100mm Hg it means that the force exerted is sufficient to push the column of mercury up to 100 mm. hypertension should not be considered as a disease it is a state in which blood pressure is maintain at 140 mmHg SYSTOLIC or more and 90 mmHg DIASTOLIC or more.It is hypertension.
The quantity of blood that passes a given point in the circulation in a given period of time is termed as blood flow.Maintenance of normal blood pressure depends upon balance between cardiac out put and peripheral vascular resistance, determined by how much smooth muscles of arteries contract. there must be a balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous control.
main causes of hypertension are stress, lack of physical exercise, overeating, over weight, faulty foods habits, smoking, make the arteries harder and by this the peripheral blood vessel become narrow and giving rise to increased peripheral vascular resistance thus increasing systolic and diastolic blood pressure. as the blood pressure rises the person become restless and feel heaviness in head. continuously rise in BP brings about paralytic attack ,impairment to renal function by which kidney fail.Daily yoga practise and having simple diet, doing assans of Yoga one can control hypertension.
